Entry Requirements
QQI Level 5 Award (or Equivalent) such as level 5 Professional Cookery available at Cavan Institute. Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants (those aged over 23) who do not meet these entry requirements but can demonstrate industry experience.

Course Description
This course is aimed at students with a passion for food, who wish to enhance their creativity and food preparation skills. It is designed to enable students to develop an advanced level of knowledge, skills and competence in professional cookery, integrating theory and practice with an industrial work placement. Students will be given the opportunity to gain EHAI (Environmental Health Association of Ireland) certification in Food Safety. This certificate is valid for fiver years and is a legal requirement for anyone working with food in a range of sectors to hold such certification.
