Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied or LCVP or QQI Level 4 Award. Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants (those aged over 23) who do not meet these entry requirements.
Course Description
This course is designed to give students a firm foundation in the skills necessary for a career in interior architecture. Students will gain design, representation and analytical skills in a studio-based environment. There is a strong emphasis on problem solving, including the ability to think creatively, three-dimensionally and technically. Students will gain exposure to skills relating to the construction, refurbishment, retrofit and fit-out of both new and existing buildings. Design communication skills will enable students to draw and communicate using conventional hand-drawing techniques, 2D AutoCAD and 2D/3D Parametric CAD.
