Our 3D Design and Graphics course is structured to enable students to explore a diverse range of design disciplines.
3D Design and Graphics
Students will gain a firm foundation in graphics, the design process and design theory in a studio-based environment. Using a hands-on approach, students will develop problem solving skills, including the ability to think creatively, three-dimensionally and technically. It is suited to students who want to pursue a career in design and enhance their career opportunities by developing a portfolio. There will be an opportunity to specialise in a chosen design discipline (3D Product Construction).

Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied or LCVP or QQI Level 4 Award. Mature applicants (aged over 23) who do not meet these entry requirements will still be considered.
At Cavan Institute:
Graduates of this course in 3D Design and Graphics may progress to the following level 6 courses, Architectural Technology and Design (Year 2), Furniture Design (Year 2) and Design all available at Cavan Institute.
Graduates are also eligible to apply through the CAO and/or the Higher Education Links Scheme for entry to year one of a range of higher certificate and degree programmes at Institutes of Technology and Universities (please check with the particular institution regarding local eligibility requirements).
Graduates of this course in 3D Design and Graphics will have the skills necessary to pursue a career in any design discipline, including 3D product design, architecture, furniture design, interior design, interior architecture, photography, graphic design, set design and fashion design. The 3D Design and Graphics course may also appeal to those interested in working on a self-employed basis, working in retail display or working in design industries.
