The Music and Sound Production (Year 2) course provides students with the opportunity to build on their knowledge and skills in the area of sound production and sound engineering, including studio work, audio mixing and mastering, sound design, Foley, composition and post production for film.

Entry Requirements
Pearson/BTEC Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Music Production, or a minimum of a Pass in all Year 1 Pearson/BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) modules in Music and Sound Production Year 1 available at Cavan Institute.
Further Study
Graduates of this course in Music and Sound Production (Year 2) are eligible to apply through the Higher Education Links Scheme for entry to a range of higher certificate and degree programmes at Institutes of Technology and Universities in Ireland and the UK (please check with the particular institution regarding local eligibility requirements).

About This Course
Students gain practical experience in the studio and multimedia editing suites and also have the opportunity to work on live events during the year, both on and off campus. As part of this Music and Sound Production (Year 2) course, students are offered the opportunity to obtain certification in the AVID Pro Tools 101 and 110 series whilst developing competency in Reason, Adobe Audition, Sibelius and other software packages.
