Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied or LCVP or QQI Level 4 Award. Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants (those aged over 23) who do not meet these entry requirements.
Career Opportunities
Graduates of this course in Theatre Performance will have the necessary skills to obtain work in a variety of areas including acting, theatre performance, event production, theatre administration and drama facilitation in youth theatre.
Progression
Graduates of this course in Theatre Performance are eligible to apply through the CAO and/or the Higher Education Links Scheme for entry to year one of a range of higher certificate and degree programmes at Higher Education Institutions (please check with the particular institution regarding local eligibility requirements). Students in the past have progressed directly to Dundalk IT, ATU, Middlesex University, but to name a few.

About This Course
As part of their studies, students will get the opportunity to perform publicly in a professional theatre. They will also experience the audition preparation process as well as build a performer portfolio to bring with them into the performing arts industry. The practical nature of the course allows students to develop their craft while enhancing their confidence and acting technique. The course in Theatre Performance deals with all general areas of drama, including devised and scripted performance. Theatre performance is an obvious first choice for those intending to pursue a career in the theatre as well as being of enormous benefit to students looking at a career in drama facilitation or dramatherapy.
