At Cavan Institute, we’re thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Youthwork Traineeship students, who have recently completed their training as Active Consent facilitators — all thanks to the expert guidance of Sinéad McGrath!👏
As part of their one-year Level 6 course, these students went beyond classroom learning. They dove into the vital topic of consent, not only deepening their understanding but also gaining the skills and confidence to lead workshops on this important issue.
And they didn’t stop there.
The trainees put their learning into action by delivering interactive consent workshops to students in the Social Care Department at Cavan Institute. These sessions helped foster awareness, spark discussion, and promote a culture of respect, communication, and empowerment.
This experience is more than just a course module — it’s a powerful tool that will support them throughout their future careers as Youth Workers, equipping them to guide and educate young people in a real, impactful way.

Thinking About a Career in Youth Work?
Our Level 6 Youthwork Traineeship is designed to prepare students with the hands-on experience, essential knowledge, and practical skills needed to work confidently with young people in a variety of settings.
