Caoimhe from Virginia, Co Cavan attended Virginia College and progressed to Cavan Institute to undertake and complete Health Service Skills - Occupational Therapy course in May 2016.

"After completing my Leaving Cert I was unsure of what path to take or what career to pursue. I applied to Cavan Institute and after talking with the tutors I took up the course "Health Service Skills - Occupational Therapy Assistant" which I loved and did well in. As a result of this I was successful in securing a place in Glasgow Caledonian University to do a BSc Hons degree in Occupational Therapy.

Cavan Institute gave me the opportunity and confidence I needed to progress. By doing this course in Cavan I was given a better insight into the role of an Occupational Therapist in the lives of people with physical or mental disabilities.

I enjoyed my year in Cavan and cannot thank the tutors enough for helping and encouraging me to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy in Glasgow".
