When I completed my Leaving Cert, An Garda Síochána was not recruiting. I attended Cavan Institute for two years studying Security Studies and Security Operations and Administrations. Completing both courses helped me build a strong foundation that assisted me in joining An Garda Síochána. The classes I attended at Cavan Institute prepared me for what was to come while training in Templemore. Currently I am a Trainee Garda and I am nearly finished phase one of my training. I could not have got this far without the help and guidance I received from the Security Studies team at Cavan Institute.'
