Karla, from Cavan Town, studied on our Makeup Artistry course last year. Karla shares her experience with us below.
"My experience at Cavan Institute was absolutely amazing. Although it is quite a difficult and heavy course, it was extremely rewarding. I always had a passion for makeup from a very young age and had always dreamed of being a makeup artist.
I had researched so many makeup courses around Ireland, most of them being private, which were extremely expensive and quite far away from home. I knew since I was in my 3rd year of secondary school that I wanted to have an ITEC diploma.
When I saw Cavan institute offered it, I knew it would be the course for me. While in 6th year in secondary school I attended the open day where I first met my amazing tutor Patricia. Patricia helped me so much throughout the year and I’m extremely grateful to have had such a brilliant, kind and caring tutor. Patricia puts so much time and energy into every single student and always pushed us to do our best. Patricia was always there to help with anything we were struggling with and guide us along the way.
Since completing my ITEC diploma, I have opened up a makeup studio and I cannot begin to describe the joy it brings me to be working and doing what I love and have so much passion for. It is the most amazing feeling in the world."
