Cavan Institute is such a good stepping stone to getting what you want to do in life. I was inexperienced after my Leaving Cert and was super disappointed with my results, but going to Cavan Institute has helped me so much in doing what I want to do with my life. I’ve had the opportunity to go work in Finland through Léargas and Erasmus+ and attended an Adobe Design competition in London. Before COVID-19 hit, I had an opportunity to do an Internship in America for a year. However, I got my dream job out of Cavan Institute which I am in right now. I mostly enjoyed working with Photoshop and Design, and knew that I could continue my studies in this area.

I am now a professional games artist working for Rockstar Games of 'Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne' fame.

Each of the modules covered in the course give you the basis and confidence to go on to work in the sector but equally to progress in your studies.

My tutors knew how to make learning fun by incorporating quizzes and games into the curriculum.

The most important skills I developed when doing the course was to know that we all have goals we want to achieve, and sometimes it can be hard to reach the goals but that it is important to be learning in a supportive environment.

At Cavan Institute, people come in with a dream and leave with a career. Going to college in Ireland was something I have always wanted but did not think was possible. From the very high rates to the long list of documents required, this dream seemed very difficult to reach but Cavan Institute made this dream reachable.

There was no doubt in my mind about choosing to enrol in Cavan Institute after seeing the successes my friends have reached in their careers by attending this college.

All of the modules at Cavan Institute ensures you leave the course feeling like you are fully ready to go onto further education or even go straight into the world of work.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Cavan institute I made great friends and I would really recommend completing a PLC course before attending college not only are the skills you learn great but it’ll help students decide whether or not the course they want to do is really for them.

The Business Studies course was very educational and highly beneficial.

To get into my chosen course, Bachelor of Commerce Global Experience in NUIG, I used my QQI Level 5 award in Business, applying through the CAO under the Higher Education Links Scheme (HELS). I was offered Commerce Global Experience in NUIG in the CAO round zero offers on 5 August 2021.

The friendly helpful learning environment at Cavan Institute set me on my way to becoming a Social Worker with a level 9 qualification.

When I finished my leaving cert I went straight to college in Galway and realised that the high numbers in lectures and the intense nature of college wasn’t suited to me.

After receiving my leaving certificate results in 2019, I was very disappointed. I had enough points for the course I wanted to do in the LYIT but I had failed Maths. I decided to do a level 5 QQI course in forensic science at Cavan Institute. Little did I know that a PLC (Post Leaving Cert) course was the best thing for me at that time. I made a lot of new friends along the way. When I went to Cavan Institute I had some information about forensics but not a lot. So that was a bit of a worry for me, but with help, I gradually learned more and more about forensics and science in general. When I was studying at Cavan Institute, I learned many important skills like getting used to Moodle and Teams. Learning to reference assignments properly was a huge asset. All universities and IoT's insist on academically referenced assignments so I will be confident starting college with this knowledge.
