Entry Requirements

QQI Level 5 Award in Early Learning and Care or Equivalent. Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants (those aged over 23) who do not meet these entry requirements. Applicants whose first language is not English require proficiency at B2 standard on the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFRL) level

Career Opportunities

Holders of a Level 6 Early Learning and Care award may enter employment directly in a supervisory or room leader role in a range of childcare settings.

About This Course

The Early Learning and Care (Stage 2) course is designed to meet the needs of the growing childcare provision in Ireland and the Siolta Quality Framework and Aistear Curriculum. Many childcare settings are now seeking level 6 qualifications for their employees in line with the requirements of the ECCE scheme and new legislative requirements for the sector.
