About This Course
There are nearly 2,000 pharmacies in Ireland, creating a growing demand for pharmacy assistants to support pharmacists with increasing workloads. Pharmacies now offer health advice, vaccinations, and basic check-ups, in addition to dispensing medicines. They also sell cosmetics, baby care items, and health supplements, which contribute significantly to their income.
This course prepares students for the role of pharmacy assistant by providing a foundation in medical terminology and basic science. As a pharmacy assistant, you will work as part of a healthcare team, supporting customers in achieving better health. Students may also complete the Irish Pharmacy Union’s Medicine Counter Assistant award.

Applied Science - Forensics
I would advise a PLC course as it sets you up for third level and further education. I'm happy I did it. My favourite part was the forensics module which was very detailed. We did work experience in lab-based environments which was very informative. Cavan is a very welcoming in environment with great lecturers.
