About This Course
This is the starting point for a successful and varied career in science. In year one, all the science subjects are taught (biology, physics and chemistry) as well as mathematics, information technology and learning to learn. Students will visit ATU - Sligo several times during this first year to become familiar with the campus and science programmes, meet students, access supports and do experiments. One of the first-year subjects taken by students at Cavan Institute will be an online introduction to the science programmes available to them from the second year at ATU - Sligo.

Entry Requirements
Leaving certificate candidates, please refer to the ATU - Sligo website for entry requirements. Students who have achieved a QQI level 5 award are also eligible to apply. QQI applicants should check with ATU - Sligo to ensure that they present with the appropriate modules.
