Entry Requirements
You can apply for this course having completed any QQI Level 5 award. It does not have to be in a business-related discipline. Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants (those aged over 23) who do not meet this entry requirement but can demonstrate industry experience.
Career Opportunities
Students who successfully complete this course in Business Studies (Year 2) will have the necessary skills to take up employment in retail, banking, insurance, commercial and service industries, as well as bodies including the civil service and local authorities.
Progression
Graduates of this Business Studies (Year 2) course are eligible to apply through the Higher Education Links Scheme for entry to a range of higher certificate and degree programmes at Higher Education Institutions (please check with the particular institution regarding local eligibility requirements).

About This Course
The Business Studies (Year 2) course leads to an award at advanced certificate level. It is designed to help students gain the theoretical and practical skills required for employment or further study in business. It allows students to progress from any level 5 course to focus on business. This course is also open to anyone who has practical experience in the area having worked in business and now wishes to gain a business qualification. Students will gain knowledge of a broad range of business principles and functions, including management, finance, law, IT, human resource management, and banking and insurance.
