Entry Requirements
Leaving Certificate or Leaving Certificate Applied or LCVP or QQI Level 4 Award. Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants (those aged over 23) who do not meet these entry requirements.
Further Study
Graduates are eligible to apply through the CAO and/or the Higher Education Links Scheme for entry to year one of a range of higher certificate and degree programmes at Institutes of Technology and Universities (please check with the particular institution regarding local eligibility requirements)
Career Opportunities
Graduates of this course in Hotel and Catering may find employment in hotels, restaurants, catering departments, cruise ships and airlines. Graduates will also be well prepared for further studies in the areas of hospitality, culinary arts, tourism and business.

About This Course
The Hotel and Catering course creates a learning environment in which the emphasis is on the practical application of the skills necessary to work in the dynamic and ever-changing sectors of food and beverage, accommodation and food preparation. Students will be given the opportunity to gain EHAI (Environmental Health Association of Ireland) certification in Food Safety. This certificate is valid for five years and it is a legal requirement for anyone working with food in a range of sectors to hold such certification.
