Pre-university Law is a one-year programme designed for those who wish to obtain a foundation knowledge of Irish law and legal processes.
The Pre-University Law course equips the learner with an introduction to the core principles of Irish law and the Irish legal system. This pre-university law course with a focus on law is particularly relevant for students who wish to pursue a Level 6 Legal Studies course in the Institutes of Technology or business/law degrees at university.

At Cavan Institute:
Graduates of this course in Pre-University Law may progress to the level 6 course in Administration and IT for Business or the level 6 Business Studies (Year 2) course at Cavan Institute.
Graduates are also eligible to apply through the CAO and/or the Higher Education Links Scheme for entry to year one of a range of higher certificate and degree programmes at Institutes of Technology and Universities (please check with the particular institution regarding local eligibility requirements).
