Course Overview
Introducing “Sight-Reading for Singers and Musicians”, an introductory course in how to read and perform written music. Open to anyone with an interest in singing or performing, who would like to be able to read music accurately, this course will help you develop sight-reading skills that you can apply directly to a choral repertoire or your own instrument, as well as strengthen your rhythmic and melodic decoding skills. It will help you to build confidence in the accuracy of your pitch and the fluency of your rhythm. Taught by a skilled music tutor, this course is delivered in a relaxed, supportive environment. Each session blends theory with practical application. You don’t need to be a member of a choir to take part or even a skilled musician! Please note that this course is delivered at Cavan Institute's Dublin Road Campus on Wednesday evenings.
