Course Overiew
This course is designed for complete beginners who wish to develop some competence in communicating in Spanish. It is taught in a fun, relaxed atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to participate.
Typical classroom activities include pair and group work, whole class discussions, some individual activities, activities in which students mingle with the whole class and some project work. Lessons will be interspersed with videos and audio clips in Spanish.
The programme follows a communicative approach to language teaching. Our lessons focus on language that is required for communicating in authentic situations with an emphasis on speaking and listening.

Week by week, you will learn the following:
Lesson 1: How to greet in Spanish; Introducing yourself, saying thank you; Asking for the meaning of certain words; Naming things, Spanish Pronunciation; The Spanish Alphabet and important vocabulary; Where do you come from?
Lesson 2: An introduction to verbs (Present tense); Talking about yourself, your family; Your home; Asking and answering personal questions; Looking for things; Numbers 0-20
Lesson 3: What do you like eating?; Hobbies; Telling the time - Asking and giving the time; Arranging things; The weather; Numbers 20-100
Lesson 4: The difference between SER and ESTAR; Asking where things are; Finding your way around; Buying things in a shop;Food at a restaurant; Irregular verbs and the past tense
Lesson 5: The months and seasons; Colours, days of the week; At the airport; At a hotel, your accommodation; The future tense
Lesson 6: Talking about your daily routine; Talking about free time activities; The conditional tense; Countries and nationalities Professions
Lesson 7: The past tense; Parts of the body; At the hospital, Doctor; Renting things; Pronunciation; Grammar (Pronouns & Adjectives)
