Course Overview
This course introduces adult learners to the principles of dog behaviour and training using positive reinforcement techniques. It combines theory (understanding canine psychology, communication and behaviour) with practice (training exercises with their own dogs). By the end of the course, learners will have the skills to manage common behavioural issues and strengthen the bond with their pets. This course will be held in on our Dublin Road campus which offers a large indoor space and outdoor access for practical work. There will be a maximum of 10 learners (with dogs) on the course. The equipment you will need to bring along includes:
an appropriate leash (details to be provided by tutor in advance of course)
treats
clicker
poop bags
and a water bowl.
To ensure the safety of all participating dogs, we require dogs to be vaccinated and non-aggressive. Learners will be required to sign a safety agreement in advance of the start date and to bring along their dog’s vaccination record on the first evening.
