Course Description
The purpose of this course is to provide students with the information, skills and practical experience necessary to work in the area of boat building. The proposed course has a strong craft element and will enable students to gain skills in the construction of small wooden craft. There will be a strong focus on the use of modern materials and techniques. This course is aimed at retaining traditional boat making and repair skills, and developing new skills in boat design, building and repair. The course is aimed at those who are interested in boat building and repair as a career and who want to learn the trade and the modern methods required by today’s standards in a working boat shop.
