Stage 1: QQI Level 5 (The Foundation)

Our two-year ELC programme begins with Stage 1, which provides the essential knowledge and competencies required for the profession.

Hands-on Learning: You will undertake 150 hours of professional practice placement in at least two different Tusla-registered settings, covering children from birth to age six.
Core Skills: Modules include Children’s Rights, Legislation and Regulations, Early Childhood Growth and Development, and Holistic Care.
Career Ready: Many of our students secure employment directly through their work placement—just like Eimear Daly, who gained full-time employment in the setting where she completed her placement.

Stage One

Stage 2: QQI Level 6 (The Advanced Step)

Already hold a Level 5? Our Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care (Stage 2) is designed to meet the increasing demand for high-level qualifications in the Irish childcare sector.

Industry Standard: This course aligns with the Siolta Quality Framework and the Aistear Curriculum, making you a top-tier candidate for modern childcare provision.
Advanced Pedagogy: You will deep-dive into Curriculum and Pedagogy, Inclusive Early Learning, and Supervision and Administration Skills.
University Pathways: Successful completion of Stage 2 opens doors to advanced entry at several universities, including TUS Midlands, ATU Sligo, and DkIT.
