The course in Cavan Institute covers many variations of makeup including special effects and theatrical makeup. I went on to study in London for a further few months before returning home, where I worked on the Benefit counter in Cara Pharmacy. I have recently left to concentrate on more freelance makeup and to work in London. All tutors at Cavan Institute were extremely helpful and gave great advice and knowledge. - Strategic Plan | Cavan Institute | Cavan, Ireland
Cavan Institute's strategic plan reflects two years of staff-led collaboration, focused on excellence, innovation, and embracing change for future success. Strategic Plan This strategic plan, the culmination of two years’ work by a wide variety of stakeholders, has been driven largely by Cavan Institute’s staff, who have demonstrated their capacity to identify new opportunities, seek excellence and embrace change. They have been central to the Institute’s success and will readily accept the responsibilities associated with the implementation of the proposed strategy. The development of the plan involved extensive teamwork. In addition to a Strategic Planning Steering Group, led by the management team, working groups were established for specific tasks. The contribution of staff members who joined these groups was highly significant in that they conducted the research, undertook the data collection and put forward ideas of central importance to the future of the Institute. Institute students and graduates, who were consulted by different means and at various stages, have also helped to shape this vision. The involvement of staff from post-primary schools, Youthreach, the adult education sector, Institutes of Technology (AIT, DKIT and ITB) and NUI Maynooth has helped to determine the thrust of the final document and, through an ongoing partnership, to reflect the important role played by this Institute in Irish further education. It is expected that the extent and level of consultation associated with this plan will provide added credibility to its ultimate aim, which is to enrich the lives and enhance the career prospects of each student whom Cavan Institute is privileged to serve Download More from Cavan Institute Courses All Courses Apply Online Start Here Supports Support Services FAQs Get Answers Contact Us If you have any questions, please get in touch. - Fidelma Reilly | Cavan Institute
Fidelma Reilly from Drumalee, Cavan tells us about her move from the beauty therapy industry to our Reception and Frontline Office Management course and then employment in administration with HSE. "After being a Beauty Therapist for over 13 years, I decided to go back to education full time as the Beauty Industry was badly affected by the Covid19 Pandemic. I looked at many courses, both part time and full time, and settled on the Reception and Frontline Office Management course in Cavan Institute as I felt it would give me the skills I needed to gain employment as a Clerical Officer or in Administration. I was also drawn to the course due to it offering Manual & Computerised Bookkeeping, an area I had particular interest in as I had seen many jobs advertised throughout the pandemic in this area. I was nervous about returning to studying full time especially as some classes were taught online through Microsoft Teams. The tutors were very supportive and when the course transitioned to being completely taught online the tutors’ support was second to none. They are all very helpful, obliging and encouraging. They were always available for any question or query and the attention to the course work was exactly the same as it had been in the classroom setting. I completed this course in May 2021 and have gained employment as an Administrator in the HSE. I also have made a panel for a Clerical Officer position in the Civil Service. I feel this is due to the modules I completed on the Reception and Frontline Office Management Course in Cavan Institute. I hope to continue to study to gain my Level 6 in BookKeeping part time in the Institute. I would highly recommend this course as I feel it has opened a new door to a new career path for me." Fidelma outlines the many benefits that can be gained from retraining and up-skilling. Well done Fidelma and thanks for sharing your insights with us. We wish you continued success in your (new) career. Fidelma Reilly Office Administration and Technology Fidelma Reilly Office Administration and Technology Student testimonials Previous Next
