  • Christmas Craft Fair

    We, the students of the Year 2 Design course, would like to invite all students and staff at Cavan Institute to our Christmas Craft Fair, which takes place on Thursday, 16 December, from 10am to 2pm in the canteen of Block A (main CI building). Some of the pieces for sale have been contributed by the students of the Art, Craft and Design course and there will also be goodies by our culinary students. There is something for everyone, so please stop by and have a look. You might just find the perfect stocking filler for a loved one. Please note the event is for Cavan Institute Staff and Students only, it is not open to the general public.

  • Open Day This Saturday! 26th Nov 2021

    Cavan Institute welcomes you to our upcoming Open Day this Saturday, 26th November 2021. Doors open from noon until 4pm. Staff will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about our courses, facilities and more. There'll even be some lovely nibbles kindly provided by our Catering students! Look forward to seeing you all soon.

  • 2021 Graduation

    The Cavan Institute Conferring of Awards 2021 is taking place on, Friday 12th November 2021 at 7:00pm. To view the Conferring of Awards, please log onto www.cavaninstitute.ie ​​​​​​​The Virtual Graduation Ceremony will be live at 6.45 pm and you can join by clicking on the link on our website. We really hope that you will be able to attend and celebrate with our students on the night.

  • FREE Repeat Leaving Cert Maths

    FREE Repeat Leaving Cert Maths Classes will be available to all Cavan Institute registered students this year. Classes will commence in CI from Friday, 8 October, @ 2:00pm. The classes are free of charge to Cavan Institute students and will be online for the most part with 6 sessions approx. taking place face-to-face in the Institute. Classes will run from 2:00-4:30pm each Friday. Please advise students to email admin@cavaninstitute.ie, if they're interested and take a look at the poster below.

  • Min Simon Harris Visits the Institute Today

    The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris T.D., is visiting Cavan Institute today, Monday the 6th of September at 10:45. Minister Harris has requested to meet with a representative group of staff and students and to tour some of the facilities. Photos and details of the the visit will be posted following today's event.​​​​​​​

  • Symptoms of COVID 19

    Covid-19 can cause illness, ranging from mild to severe, and, in some cases, can be fatal. It can take anything from 2 days up to 14 days for symptoms of coronavirus to appear. They can be similar to the symptoms of cold and flu: • A fever (high temperature -38 degrees Celsius or above). • A cough -this can be any kind of cough, not just dry. • Shortness of breath or breathing difficulties. • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste • For the complete list of symptoms, please refer to the HSE Website. • Some people infected with the virus, so called asymptomatic cases, have experienced no symptoms at all.

  • Student COVID Induction

    A COVID Plan is in place to guide students and staff on issues relating to COVID 19 • The Plan will be updated should new or amended guidance be released from the HSE/HSA • Should Government guidance change, the Institute will communicate changes to the response plan throughemails /virtual meetings /displaying of information on noticeboards in campus buildings. • A copy of the Covid-19 plan along with the Cavan Institute Covid-19 Policy are available to all students on SharePoint and the content of both documents will be covered during this presentation. • Any Covid-19 related issues should directed to your Class Tutor.

    The HSE and the Government of Ireland is asking everyone to help tackle coronavirus by downloading and using the COVID Tracker app every day. Using the app will give us a better picture of the spread of the virus help carry out contact tracing link you to excellent HSE health advice if you need it keep you updated with notifications you can trust How the Covid Tracker app helps us Daily health check-in The Covid Tracker app allows you to check-in every day, to let us know if you have any cold, flu or coronavirus symptoms, or if you’re feeling well. This will help us map the spread of the virus in Ireland. Understanding how the virus is affecting the country will help us to manage and respond to this pandemic. Contact tracing The app uses your phone’s technology to make a record of when you are close to other app users. If an app user tests positive for COVID-19, the HSE can ask them for the records on the app. This will help us to contact other people who might have been affected, and give them the advice and help they need. Your data and privacy The COVID Tracker app will not: publicly identify anyone with COVID-19 make personal data available to the HSE without your direct consent use your data for any reason other than contact tracing and anonymously reporting illness levels Be part of this national effort Use this app for 1 minute a day to make an important contribution to the fight against coronavirus. Protect yourself, your family, your community and the most vulnerable in society. Encourage everyone you know to download and use the COVID Tracker app where possible. Protection from Coronavirus.     This Information Session will focus on Courses being offered by ICHAS at Cavan Institute from September 2020 – subject to a viable cohort.
