At Cavan Institute, we believe that education is most powerful when it is collaborative. We were recently honoured to host a significant gathering: the Atlantic Cluster Steering and Working Group Committees.
This meeting brought together key leadership and teams from across the educational landscape, including CMETB, ATU, DLETB, MSLETB, and GRETB. The focus of the day was clear: the continued expansion and success of the National Tertiary Office (NTO) degree programmes.
Building Seamless Pathways
The primary goal of the Atlantic Cluster is to bridge the gap between Further Education and Training (FET) and Higher Education (HE). By strengthening the partnerships between organisations like Cavan Institute (under CMETB) and Atlantic Technological University (ATU), we are creating "seamless pathways" for our learners.
What does this mean for students?
Accessible Degrees: Students can begin their degree journey in a local FET setting before transitioning to university.
Regional Opportunities: Ensuring that learners within the CMETB region have access to high-quality degree programmes without needing to travel far from home initially.
Supportive Transition: A more integrated approach between colleges and universities ensures students are well-prepared for the rigours of a full degree.
A Commitment to Learner Success
Hosting these committees was a privilege and a reminder of the vital work happening behind the scenes. These partnerships are essential for ensuring that every learner has the best possible opportunity to succeed, regardless of where their educational journey begins.
As we continue to expand the NTO offerings, the collaboration between the Atlantic Cluster members remains a cornerstone of our mission to provide accessible, high-quality education for all.
A Gathering of Leaders
We were delighted to welcome such an esteemed group of educators and leaders to our campus.
