- Anne McKenna | Cavan Institute
Anne from Clones, Co Monaghan studied year 1 and year 2 Beauty Therapy at Cavan Institute. "I started studying Beauty Therapy in Cavan Institute September 2013 and finished in May 2015. I graduated with qualifications in FETAC/QQI, which is an Irish qualification and also in CIDESCO, ITEC and CIBTAC which are recognised worldwide. I also had the opportunity to gain extra certificates throughout my time there, which is important in an industry that is constantly changing and growing. The Beauty Therapy course is made up of a variety of modules, which are a mix of practical and theory classes. What I loved most about my time at Cavan Institute was working closely with the lecturers who were all so helpful and passionate about giving us the best possible education. After leaving Cavan Institute, I began working in ESPA at Powerscourt Hotel in Wicklow, which is one of the leading spas in Ireland. It has won many awards over the years including Best European Spa in the World Luxury Spa Awards last year. I recently found out I won Employee of the Year 2016, which has been one of my proudest moments. I believe that my time at Cavan Institute really prepared me for working in such a highly regarded spa, and helped me develop my professional skills which were key in winning this award".
